Among the better expressions of this classic Hunter blend from the vintage. A skein of white pepper freshness finds confluence with a gentle astringency, serving to suppress the fruit into a ball of tension and freshness, without overwhelming it in the name of structure alone. Sappy notes of root spice, lilac, black and red cherry, licorice strap and chinotto unravel effortlessly. I’d drink this as I would a beaujolais, young and with a good chill.
